Job summary

MITRE seeks a Lead Experimentation Engineer to advance USPACOM theater projects in Honolulu, Hawaii. You will lead cohesive experimentation campaigns, drive modeling and simulation efforts, and enable distributed experimentation across MITRE and theater partners to accelerate innovation and mission impact.

You will build sponsor and stakeholder relationships, shape resource plans, and translate operational needs into actionable experimentation plans across DoD mission sets.

Qualifications

• Typically, BS in a technical discipline (Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics) with 8 years of experience; or BA with 8 years experience; or MS with 6 years; or PhD with 5 years and relevant experience.
• Familiarity with the Pacific theater and applicable DoD missions and problem sets.
• Prior experience working day-to-day in government-controlled DoD spaces.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operational and developmental experimentation.
• Strong system-of-systems engineering across weapon systems and mission sets.
• Familiar with various DoD acquisition approaches.
• Prior DoD S/S integration experience.
• Effective and influential oral communications skills.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Active Top-Secret/TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Shaping, creating, and facilitating cohesive experimentation campaign plans for USPACOM.
• Building and managing sponsor, MITRE, and stakeholder relationships regarding USPACOM experimentation.
• Increasing collaboration on experimentation between USPACOM, theater Service Components, and priority theater partners.
• Developing resourcing strategy to rapidly develop, acquire, maintain, and transition capability in the Pacific Theater.
• Designing plans and infrastructure to enable distributed experimentation across MITRE and USPACOM.
• Developing transition plans for MITRE experimentation to USPACOM.
• Identifying opportunities to leverage Service experimentation to advance USPACOM priorities.
• Defining key metrics to quantify improvements in operational capability.
