Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Lead Experimentation Engineer to support USPACOM in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role focuses on accelerating technical innovation and delivering operational impact for warfighters across theater and services.

You will shape campaigns, build stakeholder relationships, and drive distributed experimentation between MITRE’s McLean campus and USPACOM. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering, DoD acquisition, and operational experimentation, with Top Secret/SCI

Qualifications

• BS in a technical discipline with 8 years related experience, or master's with 6 years
• Familiarity with the Pacific theater and DoD missions
• Experience working in DoD government spaces
• Demonstrated knowledge of operational and developmental experimentation
• Active TS/SCI clearance eligibility

Responsibilities

• Shaping, creating, and facilitating cohesive experimentation campaign plans for USPACOM that demonstrate how operational capabilities are incrementally adapted and matured
• Building and managing sponsor, MITRE, and stakeholder relationships pertaining to USPACOM experimentation
• Increasing collaboration and coordination on experimentation between USPACOM, theater Service Components, and priority theater partners
• Developing, with stakeholders, the resourcing strategy to rapidly develop, acquire, maintain, and transition capability into the Pacific Theater
• Designing plans and infrastructure to enable distributed experimentation between MITRE’s McLean campus and USPACOM
• Developing eventual transition plans/strategies for MITRE experimentation to USPACOM
• Identifying opportunities to leverage Service unique experimentation to advance USPACOM priorities
• Defining key metrics to quantify improvements in operational capability
• Collaborating with government, FFRDC, and MITRE experimentation leads to integrate new technology
