Oak View Group is hiring an Event Manager for the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. You will be the primary on-site contact for events, coordinating move-in, execution, and move-out, and overseeing staff and contractors to ensure flawless delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, meticulous planning, and strong communication to manage high-profile events and budgets. This is a full-time on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in events operations, banquet management, hospitality, or high-volume restaurant operations.
• Bachelor's Degree in business, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience executing large-scale events with multiple moving parts and high service expectations.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to direct teams in live-event environments.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and operational planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary on-site contact with every promoter for events with significant gross revenue.
• Plans and coordinates move-in, execution, and move-out of events, adapting resources as needed.
• Manages facility operations, including contractors and staff, during events.
• Determines staffing needs and responds to security, attendance, weather, and timing changes.
• Develops operational and financial plans and communicates them to staff before events.
• Oversees event preparation and coordinates with vendors and tenants for smooth delivery.
