Job Details

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope and objectives of projects including single-story and 2-story ground-up builds as well as tenant improvement projects.
• Conduct site visits and collect data on materials, labor, equipment, and other factors that may affect the project cost.
• Provide clear and detailed quantity take-offs.
• Maintain client communication throughout the bid process.
• Develop and issue requests for information to the design team and distribute responses to subcontractors.
• Lead or assist in obtaining subcontractor and vendor quotations for bids.
• Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner.
• Maintain subcontractor bid leveling documentation for review and discussion throughout the bid process.
• Assist in contract negotiations with subcontractors.
• Stay updated on current market prices, material costs, and industry trends.
• Keep organized records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
• Ensure site personnel are provided with proper documentation after project award.
• Assist in writing and issuing purchase order requests.
• Support scope dispute resolution and track/write change orders during construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
• 5+ years of commercial construction experience at a General Contractor on various projects
• 3+ years of direct estimating experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of construction costs and principles
• Ability to read and understand specifications and drawings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoDesk, ProEst, and MS Project
