Job summary

HEPCO Inc. is seeking an Estimating Manager in Oklahoma City to independently manage commercial construction estimates, prepare bids, and coordinate subcontractor pricing. The role focuses on identifying cost-saving opportunities throughout preconstruction.

You will review drawings, develop scopes, solicit bids, and collaborate with operations and field teams to optimize methods and profitability. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in estimating are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating experience; total construction exp. preferred.
• Commercial general contractor estimating/preconstruction experience.
• Ability to independently manage estimates, takeoffs, pricing, and bids.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and material cost summaries.
• Review drawings/specs and maintain estimating records.
• Develop scopes of work for all trades and manage subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors/vendors for coverage and competitive pricing.
• Coordinate distribution of plans to subcontractors and vendors.
• Incorporate schedules, logistics, and phasing into estimates.
• Assist with analysis of building components (MEP) and systems.
• Prepare bid-day summaries and procurement-related estimates.
• Collaborate with operations/field teams to improve construction methods.
• Track value engineering opportunities and document estimating deliverables.
• Evaluate insurance structures, fees, and rates to improve profitability.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Provide training/mentorship to estimating staff.
