Job summary

HEPCO Inc. is seeking an Estimating Manager in Dallas, TX, to lead commercial construction estimates, prepare competitive bids, and coordinate subcontractor pricing. The role focuses on identifying cost-saving opportunities throughout preconstruction and optimizing profitability.

You will manage takeoffs, pricing, and bid leveling while reviewing drawings, specifications, and schedules. Collaboration with operations, field teams, and vendors is essential to deliver accurate, timely estimates.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of estimating experience; 5+ years in total construction preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and construction estimating software.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of Lean construction principles.
• Familiarity with Lens, Revit, and ASE.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage project estimates, including conceptual estimating and bid leveling.
• Review drawings and specifications; maintain accurate estimating records.
• Prepare complex cost estimates and material cost summaries.
• Develop and manage scopes of work for all trades.
• Solicit and coordinate subcontractor bids to ensure adequate trade coverage.
• Coordinate distribution of plans to subcontractors and vendors.
• Incorporate project schedules, logistics, and phasing into estimates.
• Collaborate with operations and field teams to develop economical construction methods.
• Track value engineering opportunities and deliver comprehensive estimating deliverables.
• Identify opportunities to improve project profitability and mentor staff.
