Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Pittsburgh seeks a Lead Emergency Veterinarian to own and elevate hospital clinical excellence. You will coach doctors, uphold VEG’s medical processes, and mentor the team to thrive.

You’ll champion the VEG Way—ensuring rapid access to care and compassionate support for families and their pets. As a leader, you’ll foster mentorship, build fulfilling career paths, and create lasting impact in your hospital while collaborating with the Medical Director on

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• 2+ years of ER experience and critical case management.
• One year leadership experience is preferred.
• Training in emergency surgery/endoscopy.
• Willingness to lead and support fellow doctors, plus administrative tasks.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work clinical shifts as emergency doctors.
• Support VEG’s customer-focused experience and VEG Way.
• Lead monthly doctor meetings and M&M rounds with guidance from the MD.
• Create doctor schedules and manage leave requests.
• Address customer concerns and medical questions.
