Job summary

VEG is seeking a Lead Emergency Veterinarian to guide a hospital toward clinical excellence and a best-in-class patient experience. You will partner with the Medical Director to mentor doctors, champion VEG processes, and ensure families can stay with their pets while receiving timely care.

You will balance clinical shifts with administrative duties, develop growth plans for colleagues, and contribute to a culture of mentorship and high performance across VEG hospitals.

Qualifications

• A DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree is required.
• 2+ years of ER experience and critical case management.
• One year leadership experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work clinical shifts as an ER clinician within VEG, triage and treat cases.
• Coach fellow doctors on medical excellence and VEG Way.
• Assist Medical Director during coverage gaps and schedule changes.
• Lead monthly doctor meetings and M&M rounds with MD guidance.
• Create doctor schedules and manage leave requests in advance.
• Address customer concerns and maintain patient care quality.
