Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a Medical Director to lead its veterinary emergency hospitals. This leadership role emphasizes ownership, autonomy, and the VEG Way as you guide hospitals toward medical excellence.

You will mentor teams, champion patient safety, and shape hiring and development strategies across VEG’s ER network. You will oversee doctor recruitment, team development, and clinical quality initiatives while collaborating with market partners.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• 5+ years of traditional 24/7 ER experience and critical case management.
• Leadership and mentorship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a positive culture through team huddles and recognition.
• Lead team meetings focused on relationship building, medical quality, and team well-being.
• Oversee doctor recruitment, candidate experience, and succession planning in collaboration with talent partner.
• Partner with market owner to establish and implement a marketing strategy.
• Create and maintain the doctor schedule and ensure regulatory compliance.
