Job summary

RTX Environmental Test is seeking a Principal Environmental Test Engineer in Tucson, AZ to lead vibration and structural testing for product development. You will design tests, develop procedures, and guide internal customers through qualification and failure investigations.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, expertise with shaker systems, sensors, and data acquisition, and proficiency in CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench. Onsite location in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 5 years in a product development lab with vibration shaker systems and instrumentation and data acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Consult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers.
• Write test plans and procedures and manage schedules and budgets.
• Oversee and conduct environmental testing to validate models for qualification, production acceptance, flight test clearance, engineering evaluations, and failure investigations.
• Implement engineering best practices to ensure testing is performed accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
• Analyze test data real time and post-test to verify requirements.
• Design, model, and analyze vibration and structural test fixtures using CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench.
