Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Test Engineer - Team Lead for the Environmental Test group in Tucson, AZ. You will mentor a small team, lead second shift, and execute diverse tests to meet customer requirements while coordinating with IP teams.

The role requires deep experience in environmental testing, vibration systems, and instrumentation, with a preference for DoD clearance. Onsite work and second shift are standard, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Experience working with environmental test vibration shaker systems or experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

Consult and provide testing guidance to internal program customers and verify proposed testing meets requirements.
Write test plans and procedures ensuring safety and compliance; create schedules and budgets for testing.
Oversee and conduct environmental testing to validate models for qualification, production acceptance, flight test clearance, engineering evaluations, and failures.
Implement engineering best practices to ensure testing is accurate, on schedule, and within budget.
Analyze test data in real time and post-test to verify requirements are met.
Communicate status of testing with ET leadership and program customers.
Design, model, and analyze vibration and structural test fixtures using CREO Parametric and Ansys Workbench.
