Job summary

Foth seeks a driven Lead Environmental Engineer to join the Florida Solid Waste team. You will lead technical aspects of municipal solid waste projects, oversee plans and specs, and serve as engineer of record for waste facility construction.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, and help drive proposals. The role offers flexible work options with Jacksonville office or remote arrangements across Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in solid waste projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• Strong client and project-team communication.
• Experience with federal/state regulatory design/operations for waste facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical resource for solid waste projects.
• Oversee development and QC of plans and specs; engineer of record for waste facilities.
• Provide hands-on technical engineering for solid waste projects.
• Lead project teams to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
• Act as primary client contact; engage regulators and stakeholders.
• Contribute to proposals and marketing efforts as needed.
• Identify client needs and initiate actions to meet them.
• Coach junior staff to develop technical skills.
• Communicate effectively on technical issues with clients and regulators.
