Job summary

A leading environmental firm in Florida is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/Solid Waste Engineer to lead and design projects in the solid waste sector. This role requires managing large projects, mentoring teams, and maintaining client relationships. Ideal candidates have a minimum of 8 years of experience and relevant engineering qualifications. A competitive salary of $140,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year, along with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience specific to design and engineering.
• 5+ years working at an engineering consulting firm preferred.
• 3-5+ years working in solid waste/landfill industry required.
• Business development experience preferred.
• PE License required.
• Valid clear Driver’s License.
• Must be eligible to be legally employed in the U.S.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Managing large solid waste projects primarily in the southeastern US.
• Managing, mentoring, and supervising project teams.
• Develop and prepare proposals, schedules, and budgets.
• Understand and implement local, state and federal rules and regulations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Coordinate tasks and scheduling effectively.
• Coordinate with vendors and sub-consultants.
• Preparing design plans and specifications.
• Develop fill, cell construction, closure, and stormwater design plans.
• Prepare construction bid documents and manage construction projects.

Skills

Strong communication skills, oral and written

Experience with permitting and design packages for landfill projects

Experience with using AutoCAD/Civil 3D design software

Microsoft Office and other computer programs (ArcGIS, Google Forms, etc.)

Excellent leadership skills; team builder

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
