Job summary

ERM in Houston seeks a Managing Consultant, Scientist to lead field-based wetland delineations and habitat assessments. The role supports renewable energy, infrastructure, and technology projects, shaping permitting strategies and delivering high-quality technical documentation.

Required 5+ years of environmental experience, strong writing and data skills, and travel up to 50%. Not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Hybrid and fieldwork across multiple regions are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or related field (min 3.0 GPA) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant environmental experience, including wetland delineation and permitting.
• Strong plant identification, hydric soils, and hydrology knowledge.
• Demonstrated technical writing, data management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel and perform fieldwork up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute field-based wetland delineations and protected species assessments.
• Shape environmental permitting strategies across energy, infrastructure, and tech sectors.
• Deliver technical reports, risk assessments, and compliance plans.
• Collaborate with ERM’s nationwide technical specialists to solve environmental challenges.
• Contribute to Impact Assessment practice and long-term sustainability goals.
