Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental Scientist (Wetland Delineator) to join our Capital Project Development team in Houston, Texas. This role targets professionals with deep technical expertise beyond entry-level fieldwork who can deliver defensible science for large infrastructure projects.

You will conduct wetland delineations, prepare technical reports, and support permitting strategies while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or Master's in natural science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience with at least two field seasons of wetland delineation.
• Experience using the 1987 COE Wetland Delineation Manual and applicable Regional Supplements.
• Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regional Supplements (Arid West and Great Plains).
• Ability to travel up to 75% in varying conditions.
• Driver's license required; ability to operate a company vehicle.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wetland delineations using the 1987 Corps of Engineers Manual and Regional Supplements.
• Document OHWM indicators and waterbody characteristics.
• Perform habitat assessments and environmental field surveys.
• Collect, review, and manage field data with GPS and mapping tools.
• Compile wetland delineation reports and support permit materials.
• Support permitting strategies and regulatory analyses.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with clients.
• Deliver work in line with ERM's quality, budget, and schedules.
