Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant/Project Manager Scientist to lead field‑based wetland delineations and ecological assessments for major projects across the Mid‑Atlantic and Southeast United States, with a presence in Houston, Austin or New Orleans.

The role emphasizes regulatory navigation, technical writing, and risk and compliance strategies, contributing to the firm’s impact assessment goals while partnering with a nationwide team of specialists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or related field (min 3.0 GPA) or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant environmental experience including wetland delineation, habitat assessments, and permitting
• Project management experience
• Ability to travel and perform fieldwork up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

• Lead wetland delineations using applicable manuals and regional supplements
• Conduct habitat assessments and environmental due diligence for development projects
• Prepare technical reports, permit matrices, and compliance plans
• Collaborate with ERM’s nationwide network to address environmental challenges
• Develop proposals and support business development within the Impact Assessment practice
