Job summary

ERM in Houston, Texas is seeking a Consulting Associate, Environmental Scientist (Assistant Wetland Delineator) to support wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and permit support for infrastructure and development projects.

You will gain field and technical experience, working with a multidisciplinary team and traveling to client sites as needed. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and clear communication to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or Master’s in a natural science discipline, or 4+ years related experience
• Coursework or training in wetland delineation per official manuals
• Familiarity with Corps of Engineers supplements and regional guidance
• Ability to perform fieldwork up to 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Conduct wetland delineations per the 1987 Corps manual and regional supplements
• Document OHWM and geophysical characteristics of waterbodies
• Perform habitat and environmental assessments
• Collect, manage GPS data, and conduct quality reviews
• Support desktop constraint analyses and permitting processes
• Assist with survey report preparation and permit applications
• Work safely in the field and coordinate with the team
• Communicate findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
• Deliver work within scope, schedule, and ERM quality standards
• Support growth of ERM’s environmental and impact assessment services
