Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental Scientist (Wetland Delineator) to join our Capital Project Development team in Houston, Texas. You will apply deep field and technical expertise to defensible wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and permitting strategies for major infrastructure projects.

The role requires 2+ years of wetland delineation experience, travel up to 75%, and strong report writing and client communication skills to support regulatory decisions and project success.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or MS in natural science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional experience with at least two field seasons.
• Experience using the 1987 Corps manual and regional supplements.
• Familiarity with Corps of Engineers Supplements (Arid West & Great Plains).
• Ability to travel up to 75% in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit applications for federal, state, and local authorities.
• Evaluate regulatory requirements and maintain records and survey reports.
• Assist in developing technical project documents and calculations.
• Conduct wetland delineations using the Corps Manual and Supplements.
• Document OHWM indicators and geophysical characteristics of waterbodies.
• Perform habitat assessments and environmental field surveys.
• Collect, review, and manage field data using GPS and other tools.
• Compile delineation reports and support permit materials.
