Job summary

Allianz Commercial in Chicago seeks a Senior Environmental Claims Specialist to lead complex environmental liability claims. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve assignments with authority, drawing on deep liability claims experience and knowledge of environmental coverage to protect client interests.

You will collaborate across underwriting, operations, and clients, manage external providers, and contribute to loss trends reporting.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of claims experience with liability claims including coverage and damage issues.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental insurance products and portfolios.
• Established relationships with brokers and a strong local market presence.
• In-depth understanding of regional and local insurance markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience operating within a complex, global matrix organization.
• Ability to use AI tools to support day-to-day activities and data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

• Investigate domestic and multinational claims involving complex legal issues.
• Evaluate coverage issues and establish appropriate reserve levels.
• Direct external service providers including attorneys and adjusters.
• Negotiate and resolve claims with cost-effective, service-oriented approaches.
• Maintain accurate claims records and produce management information reports.
• Refer matters outside authority and support development of procedures.
• Build relationships with brokers, clients, and third-party adjusters.
• Represent Allianz Commercial in the marketplace.
• Support market-engagement initiatives with underwriters.
