Job summary

Corning is seeking a Systems Engineering Supervisor for IBN & Global Accounts in Charlotte, NC. You will lead a team of Systems Engineers, oversee hiring and training, and ensure alignment with Field Sales and Commercial Marketing objectives.

The ideal candidate has a BS in a technical field, 3+ years in telecommunications (fiber optics and cabling), and strong Microsoft Office skills. Base compensation ranges from $132,861 to $182,684 with full-time status and location-based starting pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical field from a recognized college or university, preferably BS in Engineering such Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil, but may consider other STEM degrees such as Physics, Math, Computer Science, etc. with the appropriate and relevant level of experience
• 3+ years of experience in Telecommunications, particularly fiber optic networks and structured cabling
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint

Responsibilities

• Ensure all support requests, both internal and external, are fulfilled in a timely manner and assigned to appropriately qualified Systems Engineers
• Manage Salesforce.com data entry for Engineer activities
• Continuously evaluate processes for Systems Engineer support to determine potential improvements both internally and externally
• Identify and provide professional development opportunities for Systems Engineers
• Identify and track metrics and communicate team performance to management
• Develop Systems Engineers into Corning talent that is desirable to other COC teams
• Performs the duties of a technical expert reviewing completed Systems Engineer tasks to include technical specifications, optical system designs, bills of material, and presentations
