Corning Incorporated in North Carolina seeks a Construction Project Leader to drive upgrading, installation, commissioning and startup of Optical Communications manufacturing systems. You will lead capital projects to expand capacity and capability across global facilities, coordinating with engineering and technology teams.

The role emphasizes field leadership, safety, and schedule integrity, with travel to Concord, Winston-Salem, Hickory, Newton, Wilmington and international sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
5+ years in leadership/management roles for capital manufacturing equipment projects.
4+ years developing Scope of Work, Purchase Orders and vendor management.
4+ years coordinating or leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead projects in Optical Fiber manufacturing sites with $1M–$15M scope.
Oversee installation phase, safety, scheduling, and contractor management.
Provide day-to-day tactical oversight with a field-first focus.
Define project teams and travel to project sites as needed.
