Job summary

Corning Incorporated in Wilmington, NC is seeking an IMS Controls Engineer to join our manufacturing IT team. The role collaborates with engineers to manage, modify, and develop computer systems that run our optical fiber production processes, with occasional lead on projects to cut costs and expand capacity.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in electrical/computer engineering or CS, 5+ years in a technical role, and PLC/PC programming knowledge (VB, .NET, C, realtime systems).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering, or computer science
• 5+ years in a technical role or relevant experience
• Knowledge in computer and PLC programming such as VB, .NET, C, Realtime systems or similar
• Experience in production support in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Assist team of engineers to provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operations
• Support process and product optimization/improvement efforts
• Provide training for engineers and/or production associates on new processes, equipment, or control systems
• Participate in capital projects
• Some after hours, on-call support will be needed
