Job summary
Corning Incorporated, a world leader in glass, ceramics, and materials science, seeks a fiber optic project leader for the Charlotte area. You will own installation projects, travel to customer sites, and coordinate all facets of fiber optic deployments.
Role includes training at various locations, providing technical support, investigating product issues, and collaborating with Sales, Manufacturing and Field Engineering to resolve field problems. Travel up to 75% is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a technical field with 2–5 years experience.
- Engineering degrees (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Chemical) preferred.
- Knowledge of construction; project planning procedures.
- Strong technical writing ability for detailed concepts.
Responsibilities
- Lead fiber optic installation projects and coordinate all facets.
- Travel to customer sites to install, test, and document systems.
- Instruct fiber optic training courses at Corning locations and customer sites.
- Provide technical assistance via the Technical Support Line and onsite.
- Investigate potential product issues and report findings.
- Recommend solutions to Sales, Manufacturing and Field Engineering.
- Coordinate travel and logistic plans for projects.
- Share technical knowledge at manufacturing facilities as needed.
- Provide global technical support of HSDCs.
