Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to drive enterprise-scale reliability across production services. You will partner with software engineering and technology teams to implement robust observability, SLI/SLO definitions, and resilient architectures.

The role emphasizes automation, rigorous engineering, and data-driven decision making for scalable systems. The position requires senior-level expertise with distributed systems, cloud technologies (AWS preferred), and

Qualifications

Typically 15+ years of relevant professional experience in Software/SRE
Experience with software development or scripting in one or more modern languages
Experience with software engineering principles, distributed systems, production troubleshooting, automation, and observability
Experience with public cloud technologies and architectures, preferably AWS
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Use software engineering and DevOps principles to improve services from build to recover
Define SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and service-health metrics
Improve observability through metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboards
Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and blameless post-incident learning
Partner with software engineering to infuse reliability and performance in lifecycle
Reduce operational toil through automation and reusable patterns
