Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a senior design leader to drive the electrical, mechanical and protection/ control design of Fixed Series Capacitor and Synchronous Condenser projects within global FACTS deployments. You will guide a design team, establish technical directions, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multiple geographies.

You will mentor engineers, oversee drawings, and ensure tools/processes are robust for large-scale electrification programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university with extensive related engineering experience
• Master’s degree in engineering with substantial related experience (if applicable)
• Strong leadership experience in project or team settings
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC and NESC standards and codes

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of design engineers for physical, electrical, and protection and control design documents and drawings
• Oversee project planning, resource availability, and delivery targets across ITO and OTR phases
• Mentor team to foster first-time-right culture and skill development
• Review and approve design drawings ensuring quality on time and cost targets
• Provide engineering leadership during design reviews and risk mitigation
• Develop and deploy design tools/processes across the engineering organization
• Support cost reduction, cycle time improvements, and lean initiatives
• Participate in hiring and onboarding of design staff
