Lillibridge Healthcare Services is seeking a Lead Engineer, Research to oversee operation, maintenance, and reliability of building systems across on-campus and off-campus research facilities in the Richmond area. The Lead Engineer, Research supports a portfolio of on-campus and/or off-campus research, innovation, and laboratory buildings. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of building systems, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment for tenants, clients, patients, and visitors. The Lead Engineer, Research plays a critical role in maintaining building infrastructure and delivering exceptional service to support the unique needs of research and laboratory operations. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned properties as needed. Minimum of 6 years of related maintenance experience; preferably in healthcare, commercial real estate, or hospital environments. Certifications (e.g., HVAC, CFC Handling, Electrical, Plumbing) preferred. Must be located in the Richmond, VA area with availability for after-hours emergencies and participation in on-call rotation. Must be in office, on-site, 5 days a week and drive to the various properties with employee owned vehicle, as needed. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, and perform extensive walking. Basic computer skills and comfort using maintenance or work order software. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $38–$46 per hour. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
