Job summary

Lillibridge Healthcare Services, a Ventas subsidiary, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and overall property upkeep across sites in Barrington, IL.

You will manage work orders, implement routine improvements, respond to emergencies, track equipment and supplies, and uphold safety standards to support tenants, patients and hospital clients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical maintenance training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably healthcare or commercial real estate.
  • Certifications in HVAC, CFC handling, electrical or plumbing preferred.
  • Must reside in Barrington, IL and be available for after-hours emergencies.
  • Must be on-site 5 days a week and able to lift 50 lb, climb ladders.

  • Complete work orders for physical maintenance and repairs.
  • Implement routine physical improvements.

About The Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and general property maintenance and upkeep. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will manage maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction, in accordance with department protocols.

Responsibilities

This role plays a key part in maintaining the reliability and performance of our buildings, creating safe, functional environments for tenants, clients, and patients. Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order-related software programs
  • Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements
  • Responding to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocol
  • Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs
  • Implement, with the Supervisor, a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs
  • Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings
  • Communicate effectively to appropriate individual building status and changes
  • Adherent to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices
  • Always act professionally and courteously with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, etc.
  • Utilize materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe, productive manner
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Minimum of 2 years of related maintenance experience; preferably in healthcare, commercial real estate, or hospital environments
  • Certifications (e.g., HVAC, CFC Handling, Electrical, Plumbing) preferred
  • Must be located in Barrington, IL area with availability for after-hours emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
  • Must be in office, on-site, 5 days a week and drive to the various properties with employee owned vehicle, as needed
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, and perform extensive walking
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using maintenance or work order software
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

The estimated base salary range for this position is $28-32 per hour. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
