Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Sumter, SC is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to act as the highest level technical expert for the product line. You will mentor others, drive innovative products, and ensure UL/CSA compliance and standards alignment across division plants.

You will review designs, coordinate with teams, and oversee safe testing and regulatory filings. A strong background in AutoCAD/Enovia and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering are required, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 to 15 years’ of product design experience in power distribution equipment.
• Proficiency in Engineering software/tools (AutoCAD, Enovia).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the top technical expert for the product line and advise across the organization on innovation and new product introduction.
• Mentor and develop staff in technical specialties and drive skill development.
• Advance innovative products and concepts across the product line and feed the Innovation Funnel and Product Roadmaps.
• Oversee compliance and file maintenance for UL/CSA standards, and manage third-party work invoices and VN resolution.
• Participate in codes and standards organizations (UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, CANENA) and track impact on division products.
• Review designs and product standards; ensure tests are conducted safely following all rules and procedures.
