Job summary

Adams Thermal Systems seeks an experienced design engineer to lead the development of robust cooling and HVAC components for automotive applications. You will drive expert design and analysis, specify materials, and manage designs with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.

You will act as the technical contact for sales, travel as needed, and mentor designers while applying ANSI Y14.5 standards and windchill change management to keep CAD data current.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of design experience in an OEM manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a parametric CAD software.
• Experience in sheet metal design and weldments.
• Experience in heat exchanger products and brazing a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or an MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates expert level design and analysis skills.
• Lead Design FMEA’s with cross-functional groups including Logistics, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Suppliers and Tooling/Fixtures.
• Design for manufacturability; experience with welding, brazing and metal forming.
• Specify materials and analyze structures for robustness, cost and risk of designs.
• Use Windchill/PDM Link to store CAD files and perform change management.
• Establish strong, lasting relationships with customers and support sales.
