Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Product Engineer Engine System Cooling in Auburn Hills, MI, to drive design, development, validation, and release of cooling components for vehicle programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions that meet performance and quality goals.

The role covers the complete product lifecycle from concept through launch, requiring hands-on engineering work, DFMEA participation, and ongoing cost improvement

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in automotive product development, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field.
• Experience with engine cooling systems, thermal management systems, heat exchangers, coolant systems, HVAC systems, fluid systems, or related automotive cooling components.
• Experience supporting components through the complete product development lifecycle, including design, development, validation, testing, and launch.
• Experience using CAD software such as CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of engineering validation and testing processes.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and technical problem solving.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with design, CAE, testing, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and release engine cooling system components.
• Support cooling module assemblies including radiators, condensers, electric fan assemblies, transmission oil coolers, coolant hoses and tubes, valves, pumps, and electric coolant heaters.
• Lead early packaging and component development activities to achieve cooling system functional objectives.
• Coordinate design, CAE activities, prototyping, testing, and associated engineering documentation.
• Develop and maintain Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R).
• Participate in DFMEA activities to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers to support design-for-manufacturability and monitor component maturity milestones.
• Support vehicle assembly builds, testing events, and issue resolution activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for technical concerns.
• Address post-launch quality issues and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Work closely with design, CAE, manufacturing, testing, and supplier teams throughout development programs.
