Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company in Simsbury, CT, seeks an experienced Product Development Lead for the Warfighter & Warhead Product Development Team, reporting to the Energetics Product Development Manager.

Lead a 3–5 engineer team and drive design, development, and qualification of projects while ensuring milestones meet schedule and budget; foster rigorous engineering practices and problem solving.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in engineering; Mechanical is the preferred discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of product design & development experience.
• Experience in problem solving/root cause analysis and leadership of multi-function technical teams.
• Ability to interpret and analyze mechanical specifications and data.
• U.S. DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3–5 development engineers for the Warfighter & Warhead Product Development Team.
• Oversee the design, development, and qualification of multiple projects within the development engineering team.
• Ensure milestones are met on schedule and within budget; uphold high quality standards.
• Drive rigorous engineering processes, RCCA, and knowledge management across the team.
• Mentor and develop team capabilities and support customer interface activities.
