Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Manager for the San Diego area. You will lead a group of 10–15 software engineers in the E&S SWDT department, overseeing staffing, performance reviews, and process improvement while contributing technically on high-visibility programs.

The role requires a BS plus 5 years (MS 3+) in a related STEM field, C/C++, and strong leadership with a Secret Clearance. On-site work at the Rancho Carmel facility is expected.

Qualifications

• BS + 5 years of experience in related STEM field; MS + 3 years of experience
• Proficiency in C/C++, Object Oriented programming, and software lifecycle processes
• Excellent written, communication, and emotional intelligence skills; ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to facilitate/mediate conflict resolution
• Must have an active Secret Clearance
• Ability to work on site full-time at Rancho Carmel facility

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of ~10–15 software engineers within San Diego E&S SWDT
• Coordinate staffing, recruiting, and performance reviews; drive salary discussions
• Develop and maintain software engineering processes; enable program execution
• Advance technical work on programs involving communications systems in FNS/ACN units
• Mentor personnel; provide career guidance and growth opportunities
