Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Software Engineer - Development to design, develop, test, and integrate embedded software for flight-critical systems. On-site in San Diego, CA or Grand Forks, ND with partial hybrid work.

You’ll work across Systems Engineering, DevSecOps, and Test teams in an Agile environment. Required: STEM degree with 5+ years (or advanced degrees with fewer years), strong SDLC, C/C++, Python, embedded RTOS experience, and active Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for embedded/RTS work.
• Experience with real-time, flight-critical, or mission-critical software.
• Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded and RTOS software.
• Lead architecture and development across multi-discipline teams.
• Support Agile Scrum efforts and multiple software baselines.
• Analyze system capabilities and resolve programmatic issues.
