Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Mgr. Embedded Software Engineer 1 to oversee and coordinate software teams delivering solutions for the Software Integration and Test organization. The role requires strong leadership, staff development, and alignment with Agile processes.

The position is on-site with no remote work, and travel up to 25% may be required. A DoD Secret clearance is mandatory to start, with US citizenship and related program access prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience
• US Citizenship Required
• Active DoD Secret clearance; must obtain Special Program Access
• 2 years as Software Engineering/Development Team Leader
• Experience leading a software development team
• 1 year identifying risks, mitigating, tracking defects, reporting status
• Working knowledge of software architecture and open standards used in defense

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software components
• Engage with business leaders and customers to understand and drive business execution
• Support the team in removing impediments and driving goals
• Drive continuous improvement using data insights
• Generate proposal and estimates inputs for new work
• Lead the team applying standards, processes, procedures, and Agile methods
• Ensure compliance with iSDP and ADP
• Coordinate with Systems and Hardware disciplines as needed
• Demonstrate strong communication and people leadership
• Set, track, and measure employee performance; provide coaching
