Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer to join our Software Technologies Organization. You will work on mission-critical software for defense applications, primarily in C/C++.

The role emphasizes Model‑based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices within a team-driven environment. The role requires a strong background in real-time embedded software, software lifecycle expertise, and the ability to obtain a Secret level

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering and 8 years of related experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Secret clearance required; SAP access possible.
• 6 years’ experience with C/C++ and real-time embedded software.
• 6 years’ experience with full software lifecycle (specification, design, implementation, integration, debugging).

Responsibilities

• Analyze, develop, and modify existing software, applying modern development techniques.
• Identify risks, mitigate issues, track defects, report status.
• Design, construct, execute unit tests, build verification test plans.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to test software on simulators and hardware.
• Identify and assess new technologies prior to implementation.
• Participate in system reviews to ensure requirements are met end-to-end.
