Blue Origin Honeybee Robotics is hiring a rover autonomy lead in Southern California to implement an onboard perception and navigation system. You will map terrain, avoid hazards in real time, and own this capability from concept through field tests and flight operations.

You’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, and program management to advance autonomous exploration products and drive development programs end‑to‑production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Robotics/CE/EE or equivalent.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development for embedded platforms.
• Proficient in C/C++ with experience in spaceflight or avionics contexts.
• Experience writing sensor drivers and implementing safety-critical code.

Responsibilities

• Lead coding, testing and validation of vehicle control software.
• Manage software field deployments and provide on-site/remote support.
• Derive and own software system requirements and schedules.
• Evaluate designs with a focus on robust autonomy.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineering managers, product/ program management.
• Write requirements and specification documents.
