Ammortal, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineer to own the application layer of the Chamber on embedded Linux, interfacing with hardware via serial and bus protocols. The role offers hands-on ownership and potential for technical leadership in a small startup culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering on Linux-based systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go, C, or C++, plus Python or JavaScript.
• Hands-on hardware/software integration over serial/bus protocols.
• Experience with microservices and production software.
• Understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of Chamber application software on embedded Linux.
• Lead architectural decisions for the microservices-based platform.
• Uphold engineering standards for code quality, testing, and deployment.
• Act as escalation point for complex customer/field issues.
• Maintain and extend early-gen Chamber software; contribute to frontend as needed.
• Collaborate with hardware, operations, and customer experience teams.
