Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Electronics Engineer to join a field engineering team. You will support radar hardware/software integration, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment on advanced radar systems, with substantial travel to domestic locations.

The role requires strong RF engineering knowledge, hardware/software integration skills, and the ability to work across engineering teams and customers. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s with 3 years.
  • Strong hardware/software integration and test experience.
  • Knowledge of RF engineering, radar functionality and radar hardware.
  • Experience using lab equipment to diagnose and validate system behavior.
  • Willingness to travel to domestic customer locations (25–50%).
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain SAP clearance or program-specific clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Support radar hardware/software integration, test execution, verification, and product sustainment.
  • Troubleshoot electronics and electrical issues in lab and field environments.
  • Lead or support integration, test, data analysis, and digital instrumentation tasks.
  • Contribute to RCCA investigations and development of corrective actions.
  • Develop and test radar assemblies, subsystems, and test equipment components.
  • Operate lab tools (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers) to diagnose issues.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, leadership, and customers to communicate status and risks.
  • Balance multiple assignments with initiative and sound engineering judgment.
