Job summary

STR seeks an experienced Electromechanical Technician Lead to design, assemble, test, and maintain electromechanical systems for high-visibility defense programs. The role will start in Wilmington, MA and relocate to Woburn, MA, coordinating a team of technicians and liaising with engineering to improve manufacturing processes.

You should read schematics and documents, follow IPC-like standards, and support test activities with lab equipment. Eligibility for U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years assembling, maintaining, testing, and repairing prototype or production systems.
• Experience building, testing, and delivering electromechanical hardware related to RF, Radar, antenna, acoustic, and undersea products.

Responsibilities

• Assembles complex electrical and electromechanical components and systems for operational environments.
• Fabricates hardware: wire harnesses, coaxial cables, connectors, and fasteners; performs general assembly.
• Reads and interprets technical docs; documents work to maintain design history.
• Supports tests under guidance or conducts routine tests with equipment.
• Coordinates daily activities in the assembly bay and maintains lab operations.
• Manages inventory of parts and equipment; schedules calibration and repair.
