Job summary

Vast is seeking a Supervisor of Avionics Manufacturing - Electro Mechanical in Long Beach to lead the second shift assembly team, ensuring IPC J-STD-001 compliance and high-quality soldering and assembly.

You will mentor technicians, train on IPC standards, review drawings, and drive process improvements while coordinating with QA, engineering, and program management to meet aggressive production schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or defense.
• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role leading production teams.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate, and communicate shift assignments for the second shift technician team.
• Lead, mentor, and model a safety-focused, quality-first culture on the production floor.
• Train and onboard technicians on electronics assembly techniques and IPC J-STD-001 requirements.
• Support soldering, PCB assembly, electro-mechanical integration, and conformal coating tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve throughput while ensuring IPC J-STD-001 compliance.
• Read and interpret drawings, BOMs, and work instructions for assembly and inspection activities.
