Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA seeks a Supervisor of Avionics Manufacturing - Harnessing to lead the second shift on harness fabrication for space hardware. You will organize tasks, mentor a team, and ensure high-quality IPC/WHMA-A-620 compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will train technicians, read schematics, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve manufacturability and throughput while maintaining safety and standards. Exempt, full-time role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical field with wire harness or aerospace cable assembly experience.
• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role guiding production teams.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and related standards beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Organize second shift wire harness fabrication and assembly tasks.
• Lead, mentor, and model safety, quality, and strong work ethic on the floor.
• Train new team members in harness techniques and IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements.
• Support daily tasks including crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and routing.
• Optimize processes to improve cycle time, yield, and cost while ensuring Class 2/3 compliance.
• Participate in design reviews to improve manufacturability and reliability.
• Collaborate with QA to enforce rigorous IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspections.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and increase throughput.
