Broward College seeks a Lead Electrician for its North Campus. The role involves advanced skilled work across electrical, plumbing, and related trades, with responsibilities including maintenance, installation, and repairs of building systems.

You will lead projects and mentor team members while ensuring safety standards. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and five years in Electrical Journeyman work, with a Florida driver’s license and preferred Electrical

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Five years of experience in the Electrical Journeyman level.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required or within 30 days of employment.
  • Desirable certifications/licenses include Electrical Journeyman License or Master Electrical License; Fork lift certification; Man lift certification; CDL Class D.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electrical work in buildings, boxes and switches; replace ballasts, wiring and fixtures.
  • Lead and assist in two or more standard trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pump‑mechanical).
  • Perform complex plumbing work and repairs to valves and fixtures.
  • Operate heavy equipment and forklift; transport materials to job sites.
  • Prepare cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintain records.
  • Provide guidance to other trades and facilities staff on proper procedures.
