Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a facilities service worker to perform semi-skilled maintenance across a school campus, including HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, grounds, sprinklers, and minor repairs. You will maintain furniture, equipment and utility systems and monitor the mechanical systems to ensure proper operation.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience; willingness to complete

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of industrial, commercial, or educational facility experience.
• Knowledge of vacuums, washers, and buffing equipment; ability to schedule staff and energy conservation.
• Training: must complete Professional and Master Facilities Service programs before applying.
• Ability to use power and hand tools and work safely from ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled work in all areas of the plant: air conditioning, plumbing, hardware, carpentry, grounds, sprinklers, preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Keep school furniture, equipment and utility systems in proper working condition.
• Monitor the proper operation of the school's mechanical system.
