Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Electrical Superintendent for the Power Delivery Services Group to oversee electricians and crews on solar project sites. You will coordinate electrical scopes, develop look-ahead schedules, and ensure resource availability while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, plus at least five years of construction/supervision in medium/high voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Detail orientation to manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and relevant web applications at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude and strong customer service.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Minimum five years construction/supervision experience on medium/high voltage projects.
• Experience with self-perform projects.
• Current driver's license.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work projects within the electrical scope of the solar site.
• Partner with Electrical Superintendent in material sizing and site utilization plan.
• Develop project schedules and 3-week look-ahead updates.
• Ensure teams have needed resources and support.
• Supervise and ensure quality control of work, including self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Attend project meetings and liaise between field engineers and contractors.
• Lead electrical team and provide mentorship to crafts.
• Establish teamwork, inclusivity, and diversity.
• Monitor progress and performance of crews and subcontractors.
• Implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program at site.
• Lead subcontractors and suppliers for the project.
• Supervise budget and recommend subcontractors and trade partners.
• Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners.
• Facilitate coordination meetings among subcontractors.
