Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Assistant Electrical Superintendent to coordinate electrical work on solar sites, leading crews and subcontractors to meet schedule, safety, and quality goals. The role demands strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to travel 100% across the United States.

The successful candidate will partner with the Electrical Superintendent on planning, material sizing, and look-ahead scheduling, while championing Mortenson’s safety program and inclusive teamwork on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years construction/supervision experience, working with medium and high voltage projects.
• Proven leadership and coordination skills across diverse teams.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to travel 100% to remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work projects within the electrical scope of the solar site.
• Partner with the Electrical Superintendent in material sizing and site utilization plan.
• Develop project schedules and 3-week look-ahead with the Electrical Superintendent.
• Ensure resources and support for work teams; supervise quality and compliance with drawings and specs.
• Lead and mentor electrical team; manage subcontractors and craft workers.
• Attend meetings and liaise between field engineers and contractors to ensure project alignment.
• Promote teamwork, inclusivity, and safety; monitor progress and performance.
• Lead project buyout with subcontractors and trade partners; lead meetings for coordination.
