Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Ohio seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to join project teams delivering world-class electrical designs for power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, and government facilities. The role spans design through construction with budget-conscious, client-driven adaptations.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 3+ years of experience, or a MS with 2+ years, plus PE licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in electrical systems studies.
• Master’s degree with 2 years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years.
• Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer licensure.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex assignments using advanced electrical engineering techniques to develop new or improved processes and methods.
• Coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports, or project design assignments.
• Perform power system studies and protection settings coordination up to 500-kV.
• Develop design basis documentation for protective settings and generate relay configuration files.
• Conduct design reviews and support quality control.
• Assist project manager to develop scope of work and conceptual design for projects.
• Train, guide, and mentor less experienced team members.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
