Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead and execute power system protection projects. The role covers planning and performing studies up to 500-kV, developing relay settings, and coordinating across teams. You will mentor engineers, support project delivery, and communicate with clients.

Primary location is Kansas City, MO, with travel up to 25%. Strong candidates will have a PE license, familiarity with major protection schemes, and experience using industry tools like ASPEN

Formación

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering plus 3 years of electrical systems studies experience.
• Master’s degree with 2 years related experience may substitute for bachelor’s +3 years.
• Professional Engineer licensure strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of protection schemes in Transmission, Distribution and substations.
• Familiarity with IEC61850 is a plus.
• Ability to lead multiple project teams and mentor younger engineers.

Responsabilidades

• Execute complex power system protection studies and relay coordination.
• Develop design basis documentation and native relay configuration files.
• Provide technical guidance and conduct design reviews for projects.
• Coordinate studies and reports across departments or divisions.
• Serve as primary client contact and assist project manager with scope and design.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
• Train, guide, and mentor junior engineers.
