Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Roanoke, VA seeks a Foreman Electrician to oversee a crew of Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman electricians on commercial/industrial projects. You will lead, train, mentor, and evaluate the crew while coordinating installation, alteration and repair work.

The role requires 7–10 years of electrical construction experience, strong leadership, blueprint reading, scheduling, and collaboration with other trades to meet project specs, budgets, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and coach teams of roughly five Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman Electricians.
• Thorough understanding of a small, assigned scope of work.
• Read and understand blueprints, project specs, and contract documents.
• Communicate with other trades and negotiate work with trade supervisors.
• Willingness to learn how to read project plans and job-related materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Work alongside their crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Assist in developing an effective manpower schedule for their team.
• Develop material lists from layouts and communicate lists to supervision.
• Help achieve production and budget goals by coordinating tasks with the crew.
• Ensure all work within local and NEC guidelines.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit and electrical devices.
• Read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics; lay out work areas.
