Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Harrisonburg, VA, is seeking an experienced Foreman Electrician to oversee a crew of Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman electricians on commercial/industrial sites. You will lead, train and evaluate performance, while ensuring work meets high quality and safety standards.

The role requires coordinating manpower, reading blueprints, and developing material lists, with strong emphasis on leadership, collaboration with other trades, and adherence to NEC guidelines.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Able to lead, mentor and coach teams of roughly five Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman Electricians.
• Read and understand blueprints and available contract-related documents.
• Communicate effectively with other trades and supervision.
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site
• Work alongside their crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards
• Assist in the development of an effective manpower schedule for their team
• Develop material lists from layouts, area prints, and job site demands and communicate lists to supervision
• Help achieve production and budget goals by understanding tasks and communicating them to the team
• Ensure all work by crew complies with local and NEC guidelines
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, and feeder conductors
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuitry
• Read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits
