Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer for NPD Lighting & Lifestyle to lead embedded electronics design, prototype, test, and troubleshooting on high-complexity projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Analog, digital, power electrical hardware tradeoffs and design relating to signal integrity, noise analysis, and margin considerations
• Power electronics circuit design and control, including power supply design and verification, output control stability, and electrical noise mitigation
• Battery safety systems, including inrush current spikes, circuit reliability, and discharging safety
• EMC and EMI design considerations and testing practices
• ESD mitigation techniques and compliance testing standards

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, prototype, test, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for high complexity projects
• Lead the development of test plans/procedures and test cases for new product electrical hardware and subsystems development
• Provide candid and effective communications up, down, and across the organization on progress, barrier removal, and escalation of business risks/opportunities
• Demonstrate company culture by independently creating Work Breakdown Structure and driving milestones
• Drive urgency and accountability in project schedules to meet key metrics
• Mentor and coach junior engineers; grow the ability to lead a small team
• Work with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systems
• Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and process
• Design and qualify new designs to UL, CEC, CE, and ANSI standards
• Lead in-house testing and verification for user satisfaction, functionality, and reliability
• Collaborate with engineers globally
